It’s here. Jean-Pierre de la Chaumette has launched his eponymous décor, furniture and lifestyle brand: CHAUMETTE.
This is the next step for the celebrated publicist and interior decorator, who has spent more than 20 years across the London and South African design scenes. In CHAUMETTE, Jean-Pierre combines his passion for beautiful things with the rapport of artisanal and creative relationships spanning decades. The result is a collection with a sophisticated African sensibility, as well as global appeal.
CHAUMETTE’s inaugural collection is entitled COAL + CLAY, and features thoughtfully curated décor, furniture and lifestyle items. Both coal and clay are dialectically embedded into Africa’s history, and are the inspiration for pieces that include side tables, stools, bowls, trays, bags and picture frames. Materials range from earthenware and stoneware; to oak, cork and kiaat; to leather and brass.
